I’ve been lagging in work ethic these days. The lack of the pressure that came with the time restraints of having a job on top of school has made me sort of lazy. I’m making a calendar to start keeping track of how many hours I spend working on anything from school work to house work to personal projects. I did a smaller version of this in my planner earlier in the year but I need something a little larger to remind me and keep the pressure on. Having things listed out has always provided me with a calming perspective on what I’ve done, am doing, and need to do.

Sporting my valentine’s day blazer and having my hair NOT hate me. This holiday fell on a Tuesday so I had class half of the day. The other half I spent with Gavin. She got me a rose and three starbursts. We spent the day walking around downtown and getting coffee. It was a pretty great day. Suiting that I have school on Valentine’s since I’m hella in love with school. Life’s been treating me pretty well lately.

I put this together during class. I made a copy of my original drawing then used my thicker drawing paper to make a frame and a back for the card. I got too into it with the stippling effects I was doing on the edges though cause I used 4 different grey markers to make the fading effect. Lastly I colored my drawing a little with a red drawing pencil to keep it festive.
I drew Gavin and myself! I used several different reference photos to get it just right but if you look closely enough you can still see where my references fell short and I had to improvise. Overall though it looks a hell of a lot nicer than the stuff I was doing just a year ago. Yay progress!
